FAQ

How large is the center and what are the age groups in each classroom? The center is licensed for 70 children. The classrooms are divided into 8 Infants (6 weeks to 12 months), 10 Young Toddlers (13 months to 24 months), 12 Older Toddlers (25 to 36 months) and two preschool rooms each licensed for 20 children.


What is the ratio of staff to children in each age group? 

Infants 1 staff to 4 children

Young Toddlers 1 staff to 5 children

Older Toddler 1 staff to 6 children

Preschool 1 staff to 10 children


Will my child have the opportunity for outdoor play? The center has developed a unique natural outdoor play space/classroom that needs to be experienced to be appreciated. You will be invited to tour the outdoor play space upon your visit. 


What does my child’s typical day look like? Each classroom is allowed planning time to develop the week’s activities and learning objectives. Weekly, your classroom teachers will post the plans for the week.


Am I able to stop by the center at anytime to visit or if I am breast feeding. Absolutely. No prior appointment is required to visit the center.


Do you conduct background checks on all your employees? Every staff person employed at the center is required to have a current Pennsylvania Child Abuse, Criminal History and FBI clearances on record with the center. The center requires that all staff renew their Child Abuse clearance and Criminal History reports on a yearly basis and provide them to the center.


What security measures do you take for your facility? The center employs a key pad locking system that is used to enter the center. 


Are you licensed? Are you accredited? By whom? The center is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. The center will also participate in the Pennsylvania Keystone STARS Quality Rating System and will seek National Association for the Education of Young Children Accreditation (NAEYC) in the future.


Are staff trained in First aid and CPR? All staff are trained in pediatric first aide and CPR.
